Our History
Measurement Instruments was formed in June 1999 from the merger of MIE INC. (Measurement Instruments East, Inc.) and WKM Associates. The new Measurement Instruments Company brought together two firms who collectively had been in business for approximately 90 years.
MIE INC. was founded in 1977 and WKM Associates was founded in 1961. Together, our combined experience represents over 60 years of continuous operation in the test and measurement industry.
Our Team
Today, Measurement Instruments employs application specialists and support staff across nine regional offices: Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Dayton, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Frederick (MD), Richmond (VA), and our headquarters in Blairsville, PA.
What Sets Us Apart
A key discovery during the merger was that WKM's larger customers were accounts that MIE had not done significant business with, and vice versa. This complementary customer base creates a win-win-win: customers get broader coverage, manufacturers get deeper market penetration, and our team delivers more comprehensive solutions.
